March 1st was a day to remember for Rotaract District 9212! The event was packed with insightful training sessions, a heartfelt tribute to The Rotary Foundation, an engaging panel discussion, and the much-anticipated official visit of District Governor Dr. Joe Kamau. Every moment was an opportunity for learning, leadership, and meaningful connections.  

From inspiring keynote speeches to interactive discussions, attendees gained valuable knowledge and exchanged ideas on driving impactful service. The event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, and partners, all united by a shared commitment to making a difference.

The Rotaractors Forum was a night to remember as DRR Hiwot Nekatibeb and DG Joe Kamau hosted RI President Stephanie Urchick for an inspiring and engaging evening. The forum featured a thought-provoking panel discussion, where leaders shared insights on service, leadership, and the future of Rotaract. The night also included a special recognition ceremony honoring new Paul Harris Fellows and Polio Society members, celebrating their commitment to making a lasting impact. Adding a touch of fun, President Stephanie even joined in the excitement, learning how to *anguka nayo*, bringing laughter and joy to the room.  

A heartfelt thank you to the organizing committee, panel speakers, and all the Rotaractors who came together to make this forum a success. Your dedication and enthusiasm continue to drive meaningful change, proving that Rotaract is a force for good. Here’s to more opportunities to connect, lead, and serve! 🚀✨

Attending the Rotaract Africa Summit 2024 (RAS UG24) was an incredibly fulfilling experience, centered around the impactful theme: “Unleashing the Potential of Africa: Rotaractors Leading the Way.” The summit brought together 290 Rotaractors from 19 African countries, fostering collaboration, networking, cultural exchanges, and engaging discussions that were both insightful and inspiring.  

With Africa’s youth making up a significant portion of the continent’s population, the summit focused on transforming young people from being unemployed to becoming community leaders and changemakers. Through leadership, mentorship, and professional development sessions, Rotaractors were empowered with essential skills and knowledge to drive meaningful change. A key takeaway from the discussions was that unleashing youth potential must go hand in hand with ensuring sustainable impact**—leadership isn’t just about change, but about making it last.  

The RYLA 2024 Theme Launch was an incredible success, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead! The event opened with an inspiring speech from Selamawit Tezera, followed by a powerful keynote address by Esayas Yeyesuswork. The highlight of the night was the enthusiastic unveiling of this year’s RYLA vision and theme by Sophonias Dawit and his dedicated team, igniting a sense of purpose and excitement among all attendees.  

Beyond the speeches, the evening was enriched with soulful music and poetry performances, showcasing the incredible talents within our community. A thrilling auction raised over 18,000 ETB, reinforcing our commitment to empowering young leaders and supporting the RYLA mission. The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring past RYLA participants and organizers, who shared their experiences and reflected on RYLA’s lasting impact on their leadership journeys.

Special appreciation goes to the Rotaract Club of Soliyana and the Rotary Club of Addis Ababa West for their unwavering support.
